Introduction

Immutable X is a layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum, focusing on NFT minting and Web3 games. It is powered by StarkWare, a scaling solution for Ethereum that allows Immutable X to offer gas-free minting of NFTs. The platform is designed to provide a high-performance, low-cost solution for web3 games while maintaining the underlying security of Ethereum.

Overview

Immutable X was launched in 2018 by siblings James Ferguson and Robbie Ferguson along with Alex Connolly. The platform has witnessed tremendous support from the U.S-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried helmed Almada Research.

Speed and Power: While Ethereum L1 can only comfortably handle roughly 15 transactions per second, Immutable X’s throughput capabilities are over 600 times more efficient than the Ethereum mainnet.
